St Paul’s Early Learning Centre (ELC)

Established in October 2004, St Paul’s Early Learning Centre offers a warm, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children aged 2 to 5 years. Our educational approach is deeply inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy, which celebrates each child’s natural curiosity and encourages learning through inquiry, play, and meaningful connections with others and the world around them.

Our curriculum is guided by the National Early Years Learning Framework, placing a strong emphasis on play-based, child-led learning. We foster creativity, independence, resilience, and essential life skills through imaginative play, hands-on experiences, and close collaboration with families and the broader community—laying the foundation for a lifelong love of learning.

We proudly offer a comprehensive Preschool program led by a qualified full-time teacher. All children benefit from a rich and engaging curriculum that supports development across key learning areas. As part of the Preschool Outcomes Measure (POM)—a national initiative—we monitor and reflect on each child’s progress in their final year before school, ensuring they are well-prepared for a confident transition to primary education.

Located within the grounds of St Paul’s Catholic Primary School, our ELC enjoys a close and vibrant connection with the wider school community. Children regularly:

  • Attend weekly school assemblies to celebrate achievements
  • Visit the school library to foster a love of reading and storytelling
  • Participate in whole-school events such as Sports Days, Liturgy ceremonies, and photo days

These experiences help children build familiarity with school routines and develop a strong sense of belonging, easing their transition into formal schooling.

To support children’s health and wellbeing, we provide nutritious meals and snacks daily, catering to a variety of dietary needs and encouraging adventurous eating habits.

At St Paul’s Early Learning Centre, we’re more than just a preschool—we’re a place where children feel seen, supported, and inspired as they begin their journey of lifelong learning.
